Christmas Cheer

at the DC Temple - Dec 2012

It has become a family tradition, when we are in the DC area, to go to the LDS Temple Visitor's Center to hear some music and see the lights during the month of December.  This evening we went to hear a handbell choir performance by Capital Carrilon.  As expected the program was outstanding!  We also enjoyed seeing the thousands of lights which were on display at the Temple grounds.  Hearing the special music at Christmas time makes me feel closer to the Savior.

The largest of the bells weighed 14 pounds!  Christmas carols really sound magical when played on bells.  Such a lovely, gentle sound for a percussion instrument.  A few more shots of the gorgeous lights:
