Fall Break (what break?!?)

This past week Ian, Ashley & Brian have been on Fall Break (no school). We've kept very busy with lots of fun activities both at home and with our friends. Monday we chilled at home.

Tuesday we went to a restaurant called Big Burger (the Mongolian version of McDonalds) where they served amazing banana milkshakes complete with curly straws (!) then we went bowling with our friends.

Wednesday we watched the movie Night at the Museum II with friends and ate pizza and drank sodas. Then afterward a friend came over to play at our house and we taught her a new board game she hadn't played before (For Sale). Thursday, our stuff came!! Then in the evening we went swimming at a private club for three hours with our friends, came home and ate Indian food (YUM!) then opened some boxes.

Friday we went for an outing along the Tuul River. We walked near a heard of horses and listened to them whinny (that was really neat!), skipped rocks in the river, sloshed around in the mud, drank hot cocoa and crunched snow beneath our boots as we walked. Ian brought along his pocket knife and whittled a stick that he used to write words in the snow. Then we went out to lunch with our friends and had burgers & fries at a place called Millie's (popular with the ex-pats). Once we got home, and after we cleaned all the mud off our shoes, we unpacked some more boxes. (Did I mention that all together there were 214 boxes? 7,146 pounds of stuff!).

Today, Saturday, we've spent unpacking more boxes and setting up and arranging things in our home. Tomorrow, a day of rest. Hooray --we really need it! This coming Monday and Tuesday the school is still closed so we will go to a Mongolian felt making class and finish unpacking the remaining boxes. What a busy, but fun week.

I need a nap. :-)
