International Fair
Each year the Diplomatic Wives Association holds an International Fair in the hotel ballroom to raise money for local charities and many of the Embassies participate by decorating a stall and bringing goods to sell. At the end of the 3-hour event, all the proceeds are donated to the Association who in turn passes them on to the selected charities. This year the US Embassy stall was staffed by 6 volunteers (four are pictured) who sold many pounds of delicious home-baked American style cupcakes, caramel corn, Rice Krispie treats, brownies, banana bread and cookies as well as freshly popped popcorn. There were also some other American themed items including books, bookmarks, leaflets, postcards, dishtowels, place mats and a nice twin-sized bed quilt made using a USA flag patterned material. The event was tons of fun, well attended and a huge success! There were many nations represented including: USA, Canada, Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Japan, United Kingdom, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Russia and several others. The Mongolians provided live entertainment, both music and dance. The costumes were fancy and colorful! What a fun, fun, fun event!

What a fun event! I love your pictures with all of the American flags. Did you guys make all of the goodies yourselves? Yum.
