Two Per Day

Son #2 read a lot of books this summer and earned a coupon book full of rewards from the library reading program.  We've been busy this week redeeming those coupons.  Two per day.  Monday was a pretty hot day, but we went for son #2's second round of free mini-golf anyway.  We cooled down with frozen goodies when we had finished.  (He seems to have a thing for vending machines .... maybe because of all the forbidden fruit there?)

 Son surprised me by choosing something fruity rather than chocolate ice cream.  This big frozen popsicle thing is a Jolly Rancher brand.  He said it was very good!

Later that day, I took son #2 to redeem another of his coupons at:

On Tuesday, we redeemed two more coupons.  The first was for a free comic book (or $3.99 off other merchandise) at Victory Comics.  We went and looked around to see what they had.  Son made a bee-line to the Star Wars section and chose a Darth Vadar talking head.  He hasn't worn the batteries out yet and we've had it for 24 hours, so I guess it was a good choice.  Our last coupon for Tuesday was a free ice cream cone at McD's.  I really don't like much of what they have to offer, so I abstained.  Much to son's delight, they agreed to dip his cone in chocolate sauce.

Tuesday ended with a summer Cub Scout swimming activity with the Pack.  Here is son (foreground) leaping off the end of the diving board after about an hour of swimming.  It was super fun for him to try out the diving boards, since we don't have those at our community pool (ours is not deep enough for diving).  He had a super time swimming with his Cub Scout friends!

I think we've used up all the coupons that he's interested in at this point.  Tomorrow we head to the library for more books and then Friday is the big day ... son's ankle surgery, so he'll be off his feet for a while.
