Lazy Drivers

I think I know now why there seem to be so many, shall we say, challenged drivers here in VA.  Many of them fail to yield the right of way, make illegal lane changes and U-turns, have trouble merging, neglect to use their turn indicators, follow too closely, act in an overall inconsiderate manner, etc.  I found this in the driver handbook:

I recently attended the mandatory 90-minute parent/teen driver presentation with my daughter.  They explained that most of us probably were taught to use the 10 & 2 o'clock hand positions.  That was before airbags.  Apparently at 10 & 2, if you are in a crash and the airbags deploy, you'll give yourself a rather firm face palm.  As for comfort and ease of maneuvering the vehicle, I give the 8 & 4 hand position:
