Today is Brian's 8th birthday! He was so excited to celebrate his birthday that he woke up just before 7 am this morning ... a full hour before, ahem, his Mom . Since it is Sunday today, we were invited to attend a DVD viewing of last weekend's LDS General Conference at the Mission President's home with other LDS members and the senior missionary couples. These are the same fun folks that we spent Thanksgiving with last November. The twenty of us enjoyed the 2-hour session then everyone stayed for a potluck lunch together. Many delicious foods were available and Brian was able to enjoy one of his favorite meals ... spaghetti. In addition, everyone sang Happy Birthday to Brian, twice! We brought cupcakes with strawberry frosting to share. Fresh strawberries are the food that Brian misses most from the USA. After we came back home, Brian opened his birthday presents. Tonight we will have one of Brian's other favorite foods, Indian food, for dinner. Next Friday evening Brian will be baptized, now that he has reached the age of accountability and he's been interviewed by the Branch President. Then later on this month Brian will celebrate turning *8* with his friends and classmates with a birthday party. It's a whole month of celebrating!

Brian loves Cheetos. He asked me to get him a big bag of Cheetos for his birthday, but here in Ulaanbaatar I could only find the small single serving size. He was still thrilled!
Brian's new "pet" kitty ... with the D-cell installed, it actually purrs!
Legos are one of Brian's favorite pastimes!
