Oh how nice it is to have church meetings in English! This weekend was our District Conference with special meetings for all the LDS members in the Ulaanbaatar East District. Our visiting General Authority (First Quorum of the Seventy) who presided over the meetings was Gerrit W. Gong. He and his wife gave wonderful, uplifting talks centered around the concepts of gratitude, forgiveness, faith, obedience and the Atonement. The Mission President and his wife also delivered spiritual messages on the same topics with special emphasis on the power of words such as "I love you" and "thank you" so that we might remember to use these phrases often and with sincerity. We were very blessed to be able to participate in these meetings and hear our leaders speak from their hearts while being guided by the Holy Spirit ... all in our native language. Very enjoyable and comforting.
