He has been working on perfecting several different knots including whipping and fusing the ends of the rope and will be preparing soon for his first scout overnight campout which takes place in June.
Yesterday he assisted in our neighborhood community effort to plant new trees. Son & husband helped plant five of the ten new trees and spread mulch, grass seed and straw (covers the grass seed to keep it moist and protected). Recent storms, in the past several years, have caused some of our neighborhood's older trees to be damaged and some of the other older trees had health issues and needed to be removed. The replacement trees were gained via grant from the county as long as our community matched the grant with sufficient volunteer hours. The efforts were a success!
