a naturalist

Today I went along with Brian's preschool class to the Cub Run Nature Center for a guided walking tour. It was the first time I've been on a school bus in nearly 25 years. There were actually three classes there and Brian's class had six participating. They were each given a card like a bingo card with things to find ... bird, tree, leaf, bug, squirrel, etc. We found all but the squirrel and butterfly. Brian had fun on the nature walk, but was more interested in spending time on the playground because it had this cool climbing wall. Once we got back to the school, Brian ate his lunch and then had a little time to look at books with a classmate.
