About a month ago Ashley had a little lapse in judgement and ended up breaking one of the arms to our attic pull-down stairs (messing with something she knew that she should NOT have been messing with). Charles attempted to mend the arm that Ashley bent way out of shape, but it didn't want to cooperate. So, we found out the Home Depot really doesn't carry all items needed for weary home owners. If you want attic stairs, they've got 'em, but you have to buy the whole thing (you know and spend about $300-$500). No replacement parts ... hmmm. The local hardware store also does not stock such things. It took a little internet research, but Charles found a place on line that manufactures the parts we needed to repair our stairs.
Kudos go to Charles because the parts arrived Wednesday afternoon and he installed them (start to finish) by Thursday evening (hey, that's less than 36 hours later). YAY! Now after not being able to get up into the attic for over a month, free and easy access has been restored. Not that I actually want to go up there today since this is the current temperature in our attic:

That culprit does look pretty innocent, but she also has a bit of a mischievous smile/twinkle in her eye.
It's nice to be reminded that some things are hard to find, even in America!
And congratulations to Mr. Do-It-Himself. Sounds like he's the REAL good guy!
